VI - Operation
This power tool is supplied from single-phase alternat-
ing current mains only. It is double insulated according
to EN 60745-1 and IEC 60745 and can be connected
to grounded or not grounded sockets. This power tool
is radio suppressed in compliance with EMC Directive
2004/108/EC.
This power tool is designed for sanding and polish-
ing flat and convex metal, plastics and wood surfaces.
The speed can be adjusted smoothly in a wide range to
achieve optimum operation mode for different materials.
PRIoR to INItIAl oPERAtIoN
▪
Make sure the power supply voltage corresponds to
the value indicated on the name plate with the techni-
cal data of the tool.
▪ Always check the position of ON/OFF switch. The
router must be connected to the power supply socket
only when this switch is in OFF position.
▪
Make sure that the cord and the plug are in order. If the
replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has
to be done by the manufacturer or his agent in order
to avoid a safety hazard.
WARNING:
Before using the sander with
metal, always remove the dust bag from the outlet as
sparks may ignite the dust or the bag.
WARNING:
Always switch off and unplug the
power tool prior to any adjustment, servicing or main-
tenance..
sWItCHING oN - sWItCHING off
brief activation
Switching on: press ON/OFF switch (3) and hold it.
Switching off: release ON/OFF switch (3).
Continuous use
Switching on: press ON/OFF switch (3) and in pressed
position lock it by button (2).
Switching off: press ON/OFF switch (3) once and release
it immediately.
moUNtING tHE sANDPAPER
Use ordinary or hook-and-loop sandpaper sheets.
Withdraw the plug from the mains socket. Clean sand-
ing pad (8). When mounting or replacing the sandpaper,
open clamps (9).
Place the end of the sheet under the opened clamp (9)
and tighten it. Stretch properly sandpaper sheet (6) on
the sanding pad, then tighten the other end of the sheet
with the second clamp.
When using hook-and-loop sandpaper:
Withdraw the plug from the power supply socket. Clean
up the sanding plate (8). Press the sandpaper (6) to the
sanding plate (8).
Ensure the alignment of the plate and the sanding sheet
apertures to achieve proper dust extraction. To ensure
convenient assembly and optimum alignment of the
plate and sandpaper sheet apertures use the guide (12).
sANDING
Place the orbital sander flat on the machined piece. Ef

ficiency and quality of work depends on the applied pres

.
Move the machine in successive passes length- and
crosswise. Do not press the tool hard against the ma-
chined surface. With increasing pressure, efficiency
does not increase, but drops. Occa-sionally toss the
abrasive sheet to clean it from accumulated dust and
prevent clogging.
Sanding wood and metal with the same abrasive sheet
is not allowed.

Values are recommendable. Optimum gra nularity and
disk speed will be determined through experience.
sPEED ADJUstmENt
The desired speed can be preselected, through rotating
the dial of the electronic regulator (1) built in the switch
(3).
stEPlEss ElECtRoNIC oPm CoNtRol
Light pressure on ON/OFF trigger switch (3) results in
low speed, further pressing the switch results in a step-
less increase of the OPM to maximum when reaching
the extreme position.
AUXIlIARy HANDlE
The auxiliary handle (5) ensures convenient guiding the
tool. The handle position can be adjusted for operator’s
convenience. To adjust the handle position loosen screw
(7) on the side of the handle, adjust the handle position
and fasten the screw again.
DUst sUCtIoN
Efficiency of sanding and durability of sandpaper are
much improved by dust suction through the apertures in
the pad and sandpaper. Dust collector bag (11) must be
emptied regularly.
