Vehicles manufactured before these dates may also be OBD-II compliant, but this varies greatly
between manufacturers and models.
To verify, check the Vehicle Emissions Control Information
(VECI) Label which is located under the bonnet or by the radiator of most vehicles. If the vehicle is
OBD II compliant, the label will designate "OBD II Certified". All OBD II compliant vehicles will also
have a "common" sixteen-pin Data Link Connector (DLC) located under the dash.
