TROUBLESHOOTING

Hydraulic pump
motor does not
start or power
supply circuit
breaker trips
immediately after
startup.
1.
Power switch in OFF (0) position/
at fault.
1.
Remove padlock (if installed) and turn power switch
to ON (1) position/replace if at fault.
2.
EMERGENCY STOP button
depressed/at fault.
2.
Rotate EMERGENCY STOP button head to reset.
Replace if at fault.
3.
Incorrect power supply voltage or
circuit size.
3.
Ensure correct power supply voltage and circuit
size.
4.
Power supply circuit breaker
tripped or fuse blown.
4.
Ensure circuit is free of shorts. Reset circuit breaker
or replace fuse.
5.
Hydraulic pump motor wires
connected incorrectly.
5.
Correct motor wiring connections.
6.
Thermal overload relay has tripped/
at fault.
6.
Reset. Adjust or replace if at fault.
7.
Start capacitor at fault.
7.
Test/replace if at fault.
8.
Transformer at fault.
8.
Replace.
9.
Contactor not energized/at fault.
9.
Test all legs for power; replace if necessary.
10.
Wiring broken, disconnected, or
corroded.
10.
Fix broken wires or disconnected/corroded
connections.
11.
HYD ON button at fault.
11.
Replace button if at fault.
12.
Circuit board at fault.
12.
Inspect/replace if at fault.
13.
Pump impeller or bearings at fault.
13.
Verify pump shaft turns freely; replace if at fault.
14.
Motor or motor bearings at fault.

Headstock hydraulic relay(s) at

Replace relay(s).

Headstock valve solenoids at fault.

Test/repair/replace.
Headstock will not
lower.

Downfeed limit switch engaged.

Adjust headstock to disengage limit switch.
2.
Workpiece contact safety switch
engaged.
2.
Raise headstock to disengage safety switch.
3.
Wiring broken, disconnected, or
corroded.
3.
Fix broken wires or disconnected/corroded
connections.
4.
Downfeed limit switch at fault.
4.
Replace.
5.
Workpiece contact safety switch at
fault.
5.
Replace.
6.
SAW BOW switch at fault.
6.
Replace switch.
7.
Circuit board at fault.

Inspect/replace if at fault.
8.
Hydraulic relay(s) at fault.

Replace relay(s) if at fault.
Hydraulic tank
fluid burnt or has
tan discoloration.
1.
Hydraulic fluid is old or
contaminated with water.
