IMPORTANT NOTE OF REPLACING THE MAIN BOARD

When the MAIN board is replaced with a new board, there is always
a necessary work.
Perform the work according to the following contents.

Note:

Only replacing the MAIN board will not run properly.

1. Work Contents

The following work is always required after replacing the MAIN
board.

Step 1:

Perform each test mode

After the MAIN board is replaced, check the various functions after
assembling the WALKMAN main unit.
(Refer to “3. Perform Each Test Mode” on page 8)

Step 2:

Each initial setting

Perform various initial settings such as destination and main unit
body color.
(Refer to “4. Each Initial Setting” on page 8)

Step 3:

Pre-installed content setting

Write pre-installed content to the WALKMAN main unit.
(Refer to “5. Pre-Installed Content Setting” on page 11)

Step 4:

Factory setting

Write the

rmware to set the WALKMAN main unit to the product

state.

Note:

Step 4 should be performed after completing all settings. Step 1 to

Step 3 cannot be performed after performing Step 4.

(Refer to “6. Factory Setting Firmware Writing” on page 15)

2. Preparation
2-1. Set the WALKMAN main unit to a charged state

After replacing the MAIN board and assembling the WALKMAN
main unit, connect the USB Type-C cable to the WALKMAN main
unit and connect it to a PC or USB AC adapter to charge it.
When the WALKMAN main unit is charged state, it automatically
start up in test mode.

Note 1:

If the operate by state of after replacing the MAIN board, the bat-

tery will be consumed quickly.

Note 2:

Even if the charging by state of after replacing the MAIN board, it

can hardly be charged. To fully charge the WALKMAN main unit,
charge it in the normal mode state after completing all the work
(“IMPORTANT NOTE OF REPLACING THE MAIN BOARD”
above) of replacing the MAIN board.

2-2. Screen display at start up

When the WALKMAN main unit is charged state, the unit will auto-
matically start up in test mode.

Note 1:

If you hold down the [

] button for about 5 seconds without charg-

ing, the unit will start up in test mode, but be sure to charge state it.
(If the battery level is low, it will not start until it is charged state)

Note 2:

You cannot start in normal mode without performing each required

work. (The test mode state cannot be released)

2-3. Shutdown method

To turn off the power in the test mode state, perform the following
operation.
When the power is turned on after turning off the power, it will start
again in the test mode state.

Note 1:

The WALKMAN main unit cannot be turned off by pressing the

[

] button.

Procedure:

1. Release the charge state.

Note 2:

The power cannot be turned off unless the charging state is re-

leased. (It will automatically restart)

2. Press the [+] or [–] button on the test mode menu screen, select

“Shutdown” and press the [
