TEST MODE A (Manufacturing Mode)
[Setting the Test Mode]
1. Turn the power on.
2. Press
[ERASE]

[OFF]

keys at a time.
3. When the test mode becomes active, the LCD displays “TEST
A” along with an acknowledged tone, and the handset waits
for a command.
4. In the command waiting state, check the following:
If the charge on is detected, key back light LEDs light up.
If low battery is detected, LCD back light LEDs light up.
If the power interruption is detected, the IC51 pin
el
(PC5)
goes “L”.
5. In the “TEST A” command input waiting state, pressing the
following keys allows the associated mode to become active.
[1]
: Key matrix test mode
[2]
: Jog dial, RING on/off switch test mode
[3]
: LED and LCD display test mode
[4]
: Beep sound volume check mode
[5]
: Hold mode
[*]
: Return to initial test mode “TEST A” and wait for a
command
[Releasing the Test Mode]
• In the “TEST A” state, press the
[*]
key.
• Turn the power off.
[Key Matrix Test Mode]
1. In the “TEST A” state, press the
[1]
key, and this test mode
will become active.
2. In this test mode, press the following keys in the given order,
and an acknowledged tone will be generated from the buzzer,
and LCD bacl light LEDs will light up. If the keys are pressed
in unspecified order, an error tone is generated from the speaker
and the handset returns to the initial test mode “TEST A” and
waits for a command.

3. When the test finished, a completion tone is generated and the
handset returns to the initial test mode “TEST A” and waits
for a command.
[Jog dial, RING on/off switch Test Mode]
1. In the “TEST A” state, press the
[2]
key, and this test mode
will become active.
2. In this test mode, rotate the jog dial clockwise or counterclock-
wise, press the button, turn on/off the RING switch and re-
spective states will be displayed on the LCD.

key causes the handset to return to the initial
test mode “TEST A” and wait for a command.
[LED and LCD Display Test Mode]
1. In the “TEST A” state, press the
[3]
key, and this test mode
will become active.
2. In this test mode, the LED and LCD dots all light up immedi-
ately when the test mode becomes active.
3. Pressing the
[*]
key causes the handset to return to the initial
test mode “TEST A” and wait for a command.
[Beep Volume Check Test Mode]
1. In the “TEST A” state, press the
[4]
key, and this test mode
will become active.
2. In this test mode, a beep is generated immediately when the
test mode becomes active. Then, pressing the
[#]
key causes a
beep volume “small”, and the subsequent
[#]
key operation
switches the volume between “large” and “small”.
3. Pressing the
[*]
key causes the handset to return to the initial
test mode “TEST A” and wait for a command.
[Hold Mode]
1. In the “TEST A” state, press the
[5]
key, and this test mode
will become active.
2. In this test mode, the handset goes to stand-by state for inter-
mittent receiving immediately when the test mode becomes
active.
3. To release this mode, turn the power off.
