TEST MODE
General Description
• For both base unit and handset, the test mode can be activated
by the key input from external without opening the cabinet to
check for the abnormality of the keys, switches, LED, LCD,
and microcomputer.
• A key touch tone (acknowledged tone) is generated for the in-
put of all keys.
• The following five test modes are provided.

• Each test mode can be changed directly to another test mode by
key operation.

TEST MODE A (Manufacturing Mode)
[Setting the Test Mode]
1. Turn the power on. (LCD displays “PLEASE WAIT ...” for
about 5 sec)
2. With the set in idle (on hook) state, press
[ERASE]

3. When the test mode becomes active, the LCD displays “TEST
A” along with an acknowledged tone, and the base unit waits
for a command.
4. In the command waiting state, check the following: (S2430)
If the power interruption is detected, the
[MESSAGES]
LED
lights up.
If the on hook or para telephone is detected, LCD back light
LEDs light up.
5. In the “TEST A” command input waiting state, pressing the
following keys allows the associated mode to become active.

: Key matrix test mode

: Jog dial, Hook switch, and DIAL MODE switch test mode
[3]
: LED and LCD display test mode
[*]
: Return to initial test mode “TEST A” and wait for a
command
[Releasing the Test Mode]
• In the “TEST A” state, press the
[*]
key.
• Turn the power off.
[Key Matrix Test Mode]
1. In the “TEST A” state, press the
[1]
key, and this test mode
will become active.
2. In this test mode, press the following keys in the given order,
and an acknowledged tone will be generated from the speaker,
and LCD back light LEDs will light up. If the keys are pressed
in unspecified order, an error tone is generated from the speaker
and the base unit returns to the initial test mode “TEST A” and
waits for a command.

3. When the test finished, a completion tone is generated and the
base unit returns to the initial test mode “TEST A” and waits
for a command.
[Jog dial, Hook switch, and DIAL MODE switch Test
Mode]
1. In the “TEST A” state, press the
[2]
key, and this test mode
will become active.
2. In this test mode, rotate the jog dial clockwise or counterclock-
wise, press the button, turn on/off the hook switch, and set the
DIAL MODE switch to T (tone) or P (pulse), and respective
states will be displayed on the LCD.
