The picture from equipment connected to the
recorder’s input jack does not appear on the
screen.

If the equipment is connected to the LINE IN
(line in) 1 jacks, select “L1” (line1) in the front
panel display by pressing CH (channel) +/– or
INPUT SELECT (input select).
If the equipment is connected to the LINE 2 IN
(line 2 in) jacks, select “L2” (line2) in the front
panel display by pressing CH (channel) +/– or
INPUT SELECT (input select).
If the equipment is connected to the LINE IN
(line in) 3 jacks, select “L3” (line3) in the front
panel display by pressing CH (channel) +/– or
INPUT SELECT (input select).
If the equipment is connected to the DV IN
(digital video in) jack, (this is usually for a digital
video camera connection), select “DV” (digital
video) in the front panel display by pressing CH
(channel) +/– or INPUT SELECT (input select).

“Line1 Input” or “Line3 Input” in “Video” setup

(digital video disc) player, VCR (video cassette
recorder), or tuner goes through your recorder
before reaching your TV, the copy-protection
signal applied to some programs could affect
picture quality. Disconnect the playback
equipment in question and connect it directly to
