Audio System Adjustment

8-5-1.

Adjustment Overview

Adjust the output level and then the input level in the analog audio adjustment.

Tools/Fixtures

• Audio analyzer

Audio Precision System One or System Two
Tektronix AA501A-option 02

Note

The audio analyzer should be filtered through 80 kHz LPF throughout adjustment.

• Audio signal generator

Tektronix SG5010
Agilent Technologies HP339A
Or equivalent product

• Audio level meter

Agilent Technologies HP3400A
Meguro Electronics MN-446
Or equivalent product

Preparation

Before starting adjustments, write down the customer's settings. After adjustments have been completed, change the
settings to the previous customer's settings.
1.

Turn on the power of the unit and the tools.

Note

Before starting the measurement, supply power to this unit and the equipment in use for at least 10 minutes to
warm them up.

2.

Set the VARIABLE switch in the audio level adjustment section to PRESET.

3.

Select the maintenance menu M370 and set the HEAD ROOM to -20 dB.

4.

Select the maintenance menu M373 and set the IN LEVEL of all channels to +4 dB.

5.

Select the maintenance menu M377 and set the OUT LEVEL to +4 dB.

6.

Select the maintenance menu M374 and set the ANALOG I/O to 2ch.

Adjustment Procedure

Output Level Adjustment

1.

Select the setup menu and set the “808 : INTERNAL AUDIO SIGNAL GENERATOR” to “1 kHz sine [1kHz]”.

2.

Select the P1 INPUT of the function menu and set the “F1 : INT SG” to “ON”.

3.

Select the HOME page of the function menu and set the “F4 : MONITOR L” to “CH1”.

4.

Select the HOME page of the function menu and set the “F5 : MONITOR R” to “CH2”.

Channel-1 Adjustment

1.

Connect an audio level meter or audio analyzer input to the ANALOG AUDIO OUTPUT 1 connector.
