Circuit Description
3-1. SY-358 Board
3-1-1. Camera DSP, MPEG4 & JPEG Encoder, and Main CPU Blocks
IC101 receives the camera data sent from the BI board through CN808 and processes a
camera signal. The signal-processed image data is MPEG4/JPEG-encoded using IC101.
IC101 also has an audio transmission/reception function and actualizes an audio input/output
function through an audio AD/DA block. The encoded image data and audio data are sent
and received to and from LAN, through the Ethernet controller connected using a PCI bus, by
main CPU (IC101). A system clock is 27 MHz. It is supplied from X103.
A camera signal processing clock is supplied as follows:

For SNC-DS10, a clock is 24.545 MHz and supplied from X102.

For SNC-DM110, a clock is 36 MHz and supplied from the BI-224 board.

3-1-2. Electrical Volume Block
IC407 generates the control voltage of a lens iris. It also supplies a DC_BIAS (VSUB)
voltage to the CCD imager on the BI board during light funnel setting of an SNC-DM110
mega-pixel camera. The DC_BIAS (VSUB) voltage is set using IC101.
3-1-3. SDRAM (Video) Block
IC503 is SDRAM that has a capacity of 16 M bytes. It is connected to IC101 and used for the
MPEG4/JPEG encoding of image data.
3-1-4. Real Time Clock Block
IC106 realizes a clock function. IC106 performs backup operation using a capacitor (C129)
when the power is turned off. It is connected with IC101 using an I

C bus. IC106 writes or
reads clock data from IC101.
3-1-5. Voltage Monitor and Reset Blocks
A system is reset using IC103. IC103 has a reset signal output function based on the detec-
tion of voltage drop. Reset operation is performed when a voltage of 3.3 V becomes less than
about 2.9 V. It is performed when a voltage of 1.2 V becomes less than about 1.0 V.
3-1-6. Video Encoder Block
An analog video signal is output using IC202. IC202 encodes the BT.656 format-based video
data, sent from IC101, to an analog video signal. The encoded analog video signal is output
from IC203 to the outside of a camera through CN201 and CN810.
