Overview
HDS-X5800 System Products
HDS-X5800 Routing Switcher Processor
This is the main enclosure unit (enclosure size: EIA
22RU) of the routing switcher system. The maximum
matrix size is 264 inputs
×
272 outputs.
The unit essentially consists of four power units and
two control CPU boards only. The following optional
boards can be mounted:

HKS-5810M 33 Input Board Set
This is the connector board set for 33 inputs, consisting
of a pair of boards, one for 16 inputs and the other for
17 inputs.
For each single HKS-5820M (33 inputs), one pair of
these boards can be mounted.
This board can handle 360 Mbps SDI, 540 Mbps SDI,
and HDTV SDI (1483.5/1485 Mbps), in addition to
SDTV SDI (143 Mbps to 270 Mbps).
HKS-5810SD 33 Input Board Set
This is the connector board set for 33 inputs, consisting
of a pair of boards, one for 16 inputs and the other for
17 inputs.
For each single HKS-5820M (33 inputs), one pair of
these boards can be mounted.
These boards can handle SDTV SDI (143 to 270
Mbps) and 360 Mbps SDI.
HKS-5820M 33 Input Distribution Board
This is a board to distribute signals to multiple HKS-
5830M/5830SD 264

34 Matrix Boards. A single
HKS-5820M handles 33 inputs and distributes each
input to eight outputs.
This board can handle 360 Mbps SDI, 540 Mbps SDI,
and HDTV SDI (1483.5/1485 Mbps), in addition to
SDTV SDI (143 Mbps to 270 Mbps).

34 Matrix Board
This is a matrix board of 264 inputs
×
34 outputs.
A matrix function for monitoring is also provided.
This board can handle 360 Mbps SDI, 540 Mbps SDI,
and HDTV SDI (1483.5/1485 Mbps), in addition to
SDTV SDI (143 Mbps, 177 Mbps, 270 Mbps).
Note
When the HKS-5830M handles signal rates other than
those specified above, signals will be output without
re-clocking.

34 Matrix Board
This is a matrix board of 264 inputs
×
34 outputs.
A matrix function for monitoring is also provided.
This board can handle 143, 177, 270, and 360 Mbps
SDI.
Note
The HKS-5830SD cannot handle any signal rates other
than those specified above.
HKS-5860M 34 Output Board Set
This is a connector board set for 34 outputs (2 boards,
17 outputs each).
For each single HKS-5830M (34 outputs), a pair of
HKS-5860M boards can be mounted.
This board can handle 360 Mbps SDI, 540 Mbps SDI,
and HDTV SDI (1483.5/1485 Mbps), in addition to
SDTV SDI (143 Mbps to 270 Mbps).
