Entering text
You can enter text when labeling tracks or
radio stations, or when making network
settings.
To select the input language
Select the input language to enter
characters in that language.
While the screen shows the text input display
(this page), enter the Option menu and select
[Language] – [(the desired language)].
Tips
Changing the input language does not cause the
display language (page 12) to change.
Refer to “List of input characters” (page 116) to
find out which characters you can use.
Remote control
Numeric/text buttons
Press the button with the desired letter
(ABC, DEF, etc.). Press repeatedly until
the desired letter appears.
CLEAR button
Press this button to erase a letter that
was just entered.
a/A button
Press this button to switch between
lowercase and uppercase letters.
button
Press this button before pressing
ENTER to go to the previous character.
CHARACTER button
This button selects the character type.
Each time you press the button, the
type changes as follows:
When the input language is set to
English:
[English alphanumeric characters]
[English alphanumeric characters
(including umlaut characters)]
[Numbers]
…
When the input language is set to a
language other than English:
[Alphanumeric characters in the
selected language]
[Numbers]

Displays the text that you enter.
Character palette
Displays the selectable characters.
