Attach BP-L40/L40A/L60A/L90A/
M50/M100 battery packs.
When you detach a battery pack, pull
it up, holding the release button in.
The charge indicators indicate the
progress or result of charging by
flashing or lighting in red, orange and
green.
Flash in orange: Charge in progress
(charged 0% to 80%)
Light in orange (only when
charging lithium-ion battery
packs): Charge wait (charged
80% and the other battery pack is
now being charged).
This status arises only when you
attach two lithium-ion battery
packs.
Flash in green (only when
charging lithium-ion battery
packs): Charge in progress
(charged 80% and over)
Light in green: End of charging
Flash in red and green: One of the
following conditions exists.
• Before charging, the output
voltage of the charger was some
value other than the specified
voltage.
• Once charging started, the
battery voltage did not rise to
the charge voltage within a
specified period.
• Once charging started, the
battery connector voltage rose
above the specified voltage.
• Once charging started, the
battery connector voltage
dropped below its initial value.
If any of the above conditions occur,
try recharging the battery pack two or
three times. If the condition persists,
the battery pack is likely defective and
should be replaced.
The indicators also flash in red and
green while charging the nickel metal
hydride battery packs in the following
cases:
• The BC-M50 failed to detect the
presence of the battery pack.
• The temperature of the battery pack
has risen to 60°C (140°F) or higher
during charging.
If you attach a battery pack not
supported by this unit, the indicators
will also flash in red and green.
