Introduction
D:Scribe Standalone includes features designed to play audio and video files for
transcription purposes (including audio CDs and DVDs), record audio files using the line-in
or microphone sources of your computer, and to record/rip audio CDs to your computer’s
hard disk.
In addition, media files can be sourced from the Internet using http protocols and streaming
formats such as ASX and WVX are supported.

conjunction with word-processing packages (such as MS-Word) for transcription production.
Licencing and Dongles

the software.
The software can be used for demonstration and evaluation purposes without a dongle, but
with limited functionality.
When using D:Scribe Standalone without a dongle, a screen reminding you of the limited
functionality will be shown periodically.
Limited functionality precludes saving transcripts and copying typed text to the clipboard,
also recordings made in the Record Screen are limited to 30 seconds in length.
