FeatureS
• 1 x 100 W (2 Ohm) / 1 x 65 W (4 Ohm) power output • 2/4 Ohm load capacity • recommended for subwoofer tubes and enclosures • may be connected to all car stereos • integrated subwoofer filter:
20–150 Hz • output increase with transformer • high-level line input • gold-plated connections
BX 1065 single channel car amplifier is suitable for powering subwoofer tubes and enclosures. It is equipped with an integrated subwoofer filter which allows only the frequency band between 20 and 150 Hz
to pass through to the speaker. It is not recommended for powering wide-range speakers (component sets, multiway systems).
COnneCting the SPeaKerS
Make sure you connect the speakers with the correct polarity. 2 or 4 Ohm speakers may be used. You can achieve this load impedance by connecting multiple speakers, but you must make sure that their total
impedance together reaches the specified value. The recommended cross-section of the speaker cords is 2 x 1
mm
2
.
Only subwoofer speakers may be connected to this amplifier!
COnneCting the inPut
The HIGH IN connector receives the signal from the sound source’s (car stereo, head unit, …) speaker output. Keep the speaker cables away from power supply and speaker wires. Take care to make stable,
well isolated connections with the right polarity!
COnneCting the POwer SuPPly
You must supply power through three connectors to the amplifier. The length of the cable between the battery and the external fuse socket (12 V, not included) should not exceed 50 cm. The ground cable
should also be as short as possible.
Connect the negative wire first. It is very important that this connection is perfectly grounded. Otherwise the amplifier may produce noise or malfunction. The cross-section of the power cords should be at
least 4-6
mm
2
. (REM cable:
0,75 mm
2
)
* If your car stereo has no 12 V output for this purpose, connect this point to the power cable. In this case, however, it is recommended to either put a switch before the remote control’s connection, or to take the
control signal from a location which has no voltage when the ignition is off. Otherwise the amplifier would be on all the time, draining the car’s battery.
inStallatiOn, trOuBleShOOting
Before turning on the power, make sure you have connected everything correctly. Connections should be stable and free of short-circuits. If the amplifier fails to operate, use a voltmeter to check whether the
12 Volt power supply reaches the device and whether the base connection is fault-free.
If your car stereo has a separate remote control output (REMOTE) which is connected, you need to check the control signal as well.
By connecting the power, the car stereo and the speakers again one by one, you can identify the unit or cable which causes the fault. If needed, make sure the fuse is not blown.
If you hear various noises from the system after turning down the volume, first unplug the HIFG IN connectors from the amplifier. If the noises are still audible, make sure the amplifier is adequately
grounded.
If the noise disappears after unplugging the RCA cables, its source is outside the amplifier. Possible causes are: ground loop; bad ground contact at the head unit, equalizer or sound switch, or at another
device in the audio frequency chain. A faulty circuit-breaker, old battery, bad ignition cables or bad contacts can all cause audible noise in the amplifier.
Setting the inPut Signal level
Turn on the car stereo and slowly increase its volume. Continue doing so until you hear distortion at musical peaks. This will be the system’s maximum volume which may be reproduced in good quality,
without distortion. The operation of the amplifier depends on the output signal level of the given car stereo and may thus differ across devices. Distorted sound will damage the speaker!Az esetleges
warningS
• The installation of car stereo equipment requires important technical skills and expertise, which cannot be covered in this manual. If necessary, consult an expert to avoid causing damage to the amplifier or
your car. The amplifier will only work correctly if it is installed in a proper way.
• The warranty does not cover damages resulting from improper installation and connection.
• Never cover the amplifier and only install it in a place where adequate ventilation is ensured.
• Protect the device from sunlight, dust, humidity and water.
• The negative pole of the speakers must not get in contact with the car’s grounding (the battery’s negative pole).
• Do not use the amplifier for a prolonged period of time when the engine is not running as this can drain the battery.
• Always use the amplifier at a volume that does not affect your participation in traffic and does not damage your hearing. Many car stereo systems are capable of emitting audio pressure in excess of 130 dB,
but sound stronger than 100 dB can permanently damage your hearing.
• Only use an identical fuse for replacement.
• This device can only be used with a 12V power source with negative grounding.
• Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device!
To prevent hearing loss, do not listen to the device at high volumes for extensive periods of time.
Do not discard with communal waste. At the end of its life, dispose of product at a facility specializing in the collection of electronic waste. If you have any question or remark in connection
with this, contact the seller or local waste management organization. By doing so, you will protect the environment as well as the health of others and yourself. Do not dispose of used
batteries with normal communal waste. The user is obliged under law to take any used or dead batteries to the local collection facility or point of original purchase. This allows the
environmentally friendly disposal of batteries.
