WARNINGS
• If necessary, prior to first use seek professional assistance so as to prevent
damaging the unit or the connected devices.
• Listening at excessive volumes can cause hearing damage!
• Do not disassemble or modify the unit. Improper installation or use will void
the warranty.
• Make sure that all connections are made properly. Improper connection can
cause malfunction.
• Immediately power off the unit if any malfunction is detected and seek the
assistance of a specialist. Many malfunctions (no sound, strange odor,
smoke, foreign object inside unit, etc.) can be easily detected.
• Protect the appliance from dust, humidity, liquids, heat, moisture, frost and
shock as well as from direct heat and sunlight.
• Do not make any cable connections while the unit is operating. Never turn
the system on or off with the volume fully turned up. Any thump or other
impulse noise can immediately destroy the speaker drivers.
• In order to protect the audio system from outside interference, always lead
the audio cables away from the power cabling.
• Failure caused by irresponsible and unprofessional use is not covered by
the warranty.
• The speaker drivers contain magnets, therefore, do not place sensitive
items (such as credit cards, magnetic tapes, compasses, etc.) near them.
• Due to ongoing improvements and development, the specifications and
design are subject to change without notice.
• We assume no responsibility for printing errors and apologize if they should
occur.
PRECAUTIONS

MAIN FEATURES
• 2-way, bass-reflex design • Input: Speakon socket • Output: Speakon
socket • Stage monitor function (laid sideways) • Stand mountable for PA use
(optional: HT 900 stand) • Portable, heavy-duty construction
APPLICATION
This two-way bass reflex loudspeaker is extremely well suited for PA and
orchestral applications. It is stand mountable and laid sideways it can also be
used as a stage monitor.
The unit has two loudspeaker connectors, an input and an output. The latter
facilitates the interconnection of several loudspeakers.
Warning: When more than one loudspeaker is interconnected, this is
implemented using a parallel connection. Consequently, the individual
specifications will be affected. The amplifier’s specifications should be taken
into account when determining the number of loudspeakers that can be
interconnected this way. Usually, one 8 Ohm passive loudspeaker can be
connected to an active loudspeaker, and two 8 Ohm passive loudspeakers –
connected in parallel – can be connected to a high powered amplifier without
any problems. Failure to observe this will cause the amplifier to malfunction
or compromise the sound quality and volume level. Seek the advice of a
specialist if necessary.
INSTALLATION
Connections should be made with the amplifier or the active loudspeaker
turned off. Make sure that the connectors used are connected properly and in
the proper polarity. Please route the microphone cable, the audio connecting
cables and the loudspeaker cables away from all power cables.
Check the state of all connections before powering on the system. The
connections should be solid and short-circuit-free, and the volume control
should be turned to its minimum position.
Carefully increase the volume after switching on the power. Prior to turning
the unit on or off set the amplifier’s volume control to its minimum position in
order to prevent any noise thus generated from damaging the loudspeakers.
Excessive output power can cause malfunction. Check the amplifier’s rating
plate. Ideally, the loudspeaker’s maximum load is double the amplifier’s
output power.
MAXIMUM VOLUME
All speakers must be run in prior to their intended use. In the first 30-50 hours
of operation, it should only be operated at 50% load.
At higher volumes, you might experience distorted or poor quality sound in
some cases. This can be caused by an input signal being set too high. The
system’s maximum volume level is what allows you to listen to it without
distortion and in good quality.
The output level will not increase any further if the volume is raised even
more, only causing additional distortion. This is harmful to the speaker drivers
and can lead to malfunction.
If a microphone is connected, please locate it as far as possible from the
loudspeaker so as to prevent any feedback from occurring. The loudspeaker
should not be aimed at the microphone because the feedback caused will
damage the speaker drivers. When using a microphone carefully increase
the volume and if feedback is noticeable, immediate reduce the volume and
relocate the loudspeaker if necessary.
