The passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor features a highly sensitive detector. It is highly suitable for controlling lighting indoors in corridors, rooms and halls.
It saves energy because you can set the desired strength of environment light to block the device as well as the period while the lamp is on. The period is
prolonged (the lamp stays on) if the device detects repeated movement in the observed area before turning off. The switch-off period always starts when the last
detected movement ceases.
Within the maximum switched load values, it is not only capable of controlling lighting but is also suitable for switching small motors such as those used in fans.
The green LED illuminates when the motion detector is triggered.
CONTROLS
The unit should be mounted on the ceiling so it can detect motion in all directions, in a 360-degree range.
TIME:
Switch-off period from the last detected movement: adjustable between approximately 10 seconds and 7 minutes.
Set it on the minimum value if you want the lamp to switch off as soon as possible after leaving the area. For walkways it is recommended to set a longer switch-
off period.
For energy-saving fluorescent lights selecting the maximum adjustable time, but at least 5 minutes, is recommended.
LUX:
Strength of environment light:
3-2000 LUX
During the day, when lighting is not required, prevents turning on the light, thereby saving a considerable amount of energy. You can set light sensitivity
according to local conditions.
Turn the control towards the moon symbol if you only want to use the lamp in the dark, and towards the sun symbol if it must be on in the twilight period as well.
MOUNTING
The pictures showing the detection area guide you to choose the ideal mounting location:
- sensitivity is greatest when the movement's direction is perpendicular to the emitted IR rays
- typical height is 2.5 m; under optimal conditions, the maximum range of detection can be approximately 6 m at <24 °C environment temperature
- if the difference in temperature between the moving object and its environment is small (e.g. in hot weather during the summer), the 6 m range may go down to
as little as 6 m
-
t
he flow of hot air, wind gusts or small pets might also trigger a false alarm
- it is recommended to ensure good visibility in the detection range
GETTING STARTED
Warning: Installation should only be performed by a specialist, in compliance with the safety and contact protection regulations in force.
1.
Remove the ceiling mounting ring from the bottom of the unit by rotating it counterclockwise.
2.
After having powered off the mains, lead the cabling to be attached through the ceiling mounting ring then fasten the ring to the ceiling by using the included
studs and screws.
3.
Secure the three conductors to the terminal strip.
4.
Fasten the unit to the mounted ring.
5.
The detector is ready to operate after switching the mains power back on.
6.
By performing further testing, adjust the TIME and LUX controls to the required setting.
CARE
Warning: Power off the motion detector prior to cleaning it.
The sensor window may require cleaning from time to time, depending on the degree of contamination.
Use a soft, dry cloth to remove any stubborn deposits.
