You can decide yourself how much espresso should flow into the cup with the
MANUAL
button.
Press the
MANUAL
button once to start with the espresso extraction. Here, too, the
extraction starts with the low pressure pre-infusion function.
If you want to stop espresso production, press the
MANUAL button once more.
Note:
You can stop the extraction at any time by pressing one of the following
buttons: , or
MANUAL
. The appliance then returns to standby mode.
STEAM FUNCTION
You can activate the steam function to steam milk at any time. To do that, you have
to set the STEAM lever ( L ) to the OPEN position, the control light on the appli-
ance front lights up and hot steam escapes through the pivotable steam wand ( N ).
To switch the steam function back off, set the STEAM lever ( L ) back to the CLOSED
position. The appliance returns to standby mode, the control light goes out.
Caution: Risk of burning!
Steam can escape even after you have switched the steam function off!
Always supervise children and keep them away from the appliance!
HOT WATER FUNCTION
You can activate the hot water function at any time, e.g. to make long blacks (Ameri-
cano) or to pre-heat cups. To do that, you have to set the
HOT WATER
dial (
B
) to
the OPEN position, the control light on the appliance front lights up and hot
water flows out of the outlet ( M ).
To switch the hot water function back off, set the HOT WATER dial ( B ) back to the
CLOSED position. The appliance returns to standby mode and the control light
goes out.
Note: Using the hot water function and making espresso at the same time is not
possible.

PROGRAMMING SETTINGS
You can reprogram the standard settings with the LCD display and the four but-
tons beneath it. To do that, always press the
MENU
button first. All programmable
functions are listed in the display. You can select the desired function by pressing
the MENU button.
You can cancel settings at any time by pressing the EXIT button, returning to standby
mode.
Note:
The
MENU
button can not be pressed while espresso is made or the hot water
function is activated.
