Testing the Water Flow
Once you've added water to the reservoir (see the Preparing the Water chapter in the Grow
Guide), plug in the pump to the other Y cable socket and watch to see that water is coming
out of all 8 drippers a steady rate. If some of the drippers have a steady stream but some
other drippers have little to no water coming out, first close the valve(s) on the drippers
with the fastest rate until they have slowed down. This will allow a more even pressure
distribution. Next, open the valves on the slow drippers until they are all somewhat equal.
Your plants will do fine with a wide range of water flow rates so do not be concerned if
some drippers are dripping faster than others.
Once you've verified that all eight drippers are functioning, make sure that all eight
endpoints of the bottom planters are getting water flow as well.
This ensures that the
planters and plant holders are in the proper position and that every plant will get the water
it needs.
