3.7 Battery and accumulator disposal
Batteries and rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are marked
with the
Symbol of a crossed-out dustbin and must not be disposed of with
household waste.
As a consumer, you are legally obliged to return used batteries and accumulators. You can hand in
your old batteries and rechargeable batteries as hazardous waste at the public collection points in
your municipality or wherever batteries of the type in question are sold. You will find these signs
on batteries containing harmful substances: Pb = battery contains lead, Cd = battery contains
cadmium, Hg = battery contains mercury.
3.8 Disposal of the terminal
According to current knowledge, the terminal does not contain any special environmentally
hazardous substances. The terminal is not to be treated as normal waste, but must be handed in
at an acceptance point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
Further information can be obtained from your municipality or from the municipal waste disposal
companies.
