ETUP FOR
A
PPLE
This chapter explains how to install and use the Socket
Bluetooth
Cordless Hand Scanner (CHS) with the Apple
iPad (any version), iPhone (iOS 4) or iPod touch (iOS 4).
Before you begin the instructions in this chapter,
make sure you have charged the scanner, as
described in Chapter 2, “Hardware Preparation.”
Note: No software installation is required for normal
operation.

CHS
Press and hold the small power button for 3 seconds
, or until the LED
turns blue and the scanner beeps twice (low - high).
The LED should blink blue once every second to show that the
Bluetooth
radio is on but not connected.
Time after turning on scanner

Discoverable and connectable
5 minutes
When disconnected and inactive, the
scanner automatically powers off.

When connected and trigger button
is not pressed, the scanner
automatically powers off.

Scan the Enabled Apple Mode barcode below.
Enable Apple Mode
Disable Apple Mode
Note: After you enable Apple mode, the scanner will beep 5 times and then
power off.
Note: If you later have problems discovering the scanner with another
platform (e.g., Windows), you may need to scan the Disable Apple Mode
barcode.
