6.
Using the provided wrenches, tighten the four lock nuts
holding both handle supports to the frame of the spreader.
7.
Attach the shorter end of the control rod to the feed plate
lever on the back of the spreader using a M6x16 hex bolt,
nylon washer and lock nut (Fig. 4).
8.
Fix the other end of the control rod to the control lever on
the handle using an M6x16 hex bolt, nylon washer and lock
nut (Fig. 5).
9.
At this point, the control lever assembly is still only loosely
attached to the handle. With the control lever set to the
closed setting (all the way back), push the entire control
lever assembly down until the hole in the bottom of the
hopper is completely closed by the feed plate, before
tightening the two bolts (Fig. 6).

Operation
1.
Before filling the hopper, make sure the hitch pin is
installed, and the control lever is set all the way back so
that the feed plate is fully closed (Fig. 7).
2.
Place the hopper screen into the hopper before filling it
with material. Estimate the size of the coverage area and
follow the material manufacturer’s instructions regarding
the appropriate amount. Break up any lumps as you fill the
hopper.
3.
If necessary, install the cover over the hopper to protect the
material from excessive wind or moisture.
NOTE:
Do not use it as a rain cover.
4.
Always start pushing the spreader before adjusting the
control lever to open the feed plate.
5.
To open the feed plate, push the control lever to the right
and rotate it forward until it clicks into one of the notches
(Fig. 8).
NOTE:
The control lever has five feed control settings.
Going from back to front, they are: closed, low, medium,
high and fully opened.
