Authentication Type
— Selects the authentication type to use.
Options are:
■
Open System:
If you don’t set up any other security mechanism
on the access point, the network has no protection and is open to all
users. This is the default setting.
■
Shared Key:
Sets the access point to use WEP shared keys. If this
option is selected, you must configure at least one key on the
access point and all clients.
■
Auto:
Automatically selects the best authentication type to use.

Key Length
— Selects between 64 bit and 128 bit keys.
◆
Key Format
— Selects the preferred method of entering WEP
encryption keys on the unit:
■
Alphanumeric: Enter keys as 5 alphanumeric characters for 64 bit
keys, 13 alphanumeric characters for 128 bit keys. This is the
default setting.
■
Hexadecimal: Enter keys as 10 hexadecimal digits (0-9 and A-F) for
64 bit keys, or 26 hexadecimal digits for 128 bit keys.

Default Tx Key
— Selects the default key used for transmission.
◆
Encryption Key 1~4
— Specifies the user defined WEP keys.
