7.4 Setting the NetID
By default, the NetID is set to
1
for all SMA inverters and SMA communication products. This means
that the inverter can communicate with one SMA communication product via
Bluetooth
.
You may leave the default NetID set to 1 in your inverter if your plant consists of the following
products:
• A maximum of one inverter
• A maximum of one computer with
Bluetooth
and the Sunny Explorer software
• A maximum of one communication product
or
• A maximum of one inverter
• A maximum of two communication products
You must change the NetID in the following cases:
• If your plant consists of more than one inverter and two communication products, you must
change the NetID of your plant. This will enable you to communicate with other inverters and
several communication products.
• If another plant with
Bluetooth
is located within 500 m of your plant (i.e. in your vicinity), you
must change the NetID of your plant. This will help to separate both plants from each other.
• If you do not want to communicate using
Bluetooth
, deactivate the
Bluetooth
communication on
your inverter. This protects your plant from unauthorised access.
All
Bluetooth
devices in a plant must have the same NetID. Before commissioning, you can set a new
NetID in the inverter by using one rotary switch. The setting will be adopted after commissioning.
