6.4.3 Connecting the PV Array
1. Disconnect the miniature circuit-breaker and secure against reconnection.
2. If the ESS is plugged in, remove the ESS.
3. If the protective cover is mounted, loosen the
two screws of the protective cover using an Allen
key (AF 5) and remove the protective cover.
Danger to life due to electric shock or fire
The maximum possible input current per string is limited by the DC connectors used. If the
DC connectors are overloaded, an electric arc may occur and there is a risk of fire.
• Ensure that the maximum input current per string does not exceed the maximum through-fault
current of the DC connectors used (see Section13 "Technical Data", page 90).
Destruction of the inverter due to overvoltage
If the open-circuit voltage of the PV modules exceeds the maximum input voltage of the inverter, the
inverter can be destroyed by the overvoltage.
• If the open-circuit voltage of the PV modules exceeds the maximum input voltage of the
inverter, do not connect any strings to the inverter and check the design of the PV plant.
