TERILISATION
Following each patient use it is important to clean the exterior of the ventilator with an all purpose liquid
cleaner or detergent, as well as to disassemble and clean the various components in the patient circuit
system, heated humidifier chamber, and exhalation block.
Before cleaning the exterior of the ventilator and the humidifier, the power cords should be unplugged
from the mains supply.
CAUTION. Do not allow water or other liquids to enter the control module or its electrical sockets.
Electronic malfunction may result.
DO NOT steam autoclave the Oxygen blender or otherwise subject it to temperatures above 63°C
(145°F).
DO NOT immerse any part of the SLE2000 HFO in any liquid decontaminant or fluids, with the exception
of the exhalation block (see section 9.2 on page 79).
DO NOT use any strong solvent cleaners on the front panels or labels.
The exhalation block should be thoroughly rinsed in warm water prior to sterilisation. A bacteria filter
fitted between the patient circuit and the exhalation block will eliminate the need to autoclave the
exhalation block. Should this block require sterilisation it can be autoclaved at 134°C (274°F ) in a
standard chamber.
