PEDAL ASSIST & THROTTLES
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
ABOUT RIDING AN E-TRIKE
This E-Bike has an electric pedal-assisted driving system (PAS).The pedal-assisted driving
system consists of a driving unit, a battery, a controller, and various electronic compo-
nents (harness wires, sensors and switches). It is essential to know that when the pedal
assist system is on, the driving unit provides power only while you are pedalling. The
amount of power supplied by the unit depends on your pedalling force and the assis-
tance model/level you set with the handlebar control unit at any time. When you stop
pedalling, the pedal assist system will disengage. In all models/levels, the pedal-assisted
driving system reduces progressively. It cuts off as the bike reaches 25KM/h (15.5MPH),
or sooner if you stop pedalling. The pedal-assisted driving system re-engages when
speed drops below 25KM/H (15.5MPH) as long the pedals are turning.
Riding a Slane three-wheeled E-trike is not the same as riding a two-wheeled
Slane E-bike. A Slane E-trike has a broader wheelbase than a two-wheeled
Slane E-bike; therefore, it will take longer and more space will be
required to complete turns.
Take your E-trike to an open area away from traffic and practice riding it
slowly so you get used to it. Practice riding your E-trike straight, then
gradually make turns. Be confident before riding on a road. Start with your
seat lower than you would on a bicycle to keep your center of gravity lower
for more stability until you get used to how the E-trike handles.
Unlike two-wheeled Slane E-bikes, Slane E-trikes do not do well on “edge,”
i.e. if you lean over too far and get either of the rear wheels off the ground,
you run the risk of rolling the E-bike over. For this reason, you must keep
your weight centred over your E-trike to ensure all three wheels are firmly on
the ground when making turns or taking tight corners.
You will rely mainly on the handlebars/steering to make turns.
Do not take corners or make turns at high speed on a Slane E-trike.
An E-trike takes up more room on the road than an E-bike. The rear
wheels are much wider than your shoulders. Keep an eye out for obstacles
ahead of you, taking the width of your back wheels into consideration.
E-trikes do not maneuver as quickly as two-wheeled E-bikes;
always ride with caution.
Slane E-trikes should not be ridden off-road, in deep snow or
during heavy rainfall.
PEDAL INSTALLATION
Pedals are a pair with “R” & “L” (Picture 1): “R” for right, “L” for left.
Tighten the pedals in the direction of the threads.

The ACADIAN is equipped with a twist throttle.
The throttle operates by rotating the throttle
toward the rider, much like a motorcycle.
The more you twist the throttle, the faster the
motor system will propel the bicycle.
DO NOT USE PEDAL ASSIST AND THE TWIST THROTTLE
AT THE SAME TIME.
