FK-ESC-RF RECEIVER

Fig. 18

 FK-ESC-RF speed control.

The FK-ESC-RF is a fan speed control with a built-in

remote control receiver for hearth appliances using an

existing or new fans/blowers.  The FK-ESC-RF (fan speed

control) adjusts the air output of the fan/blower. The speed

control will turn ON the fan automatically 7-minutes after

the main flame has been turned ON and turn the fan OFF

12-minutes after the main flame has been turned OFF.

There are five settings, Hi, Medium Hi, Medium Lo, Lo and

OFF.  You can manually adjust the speed by pressing the

FAN SPEED button.  The FK-ESC-RF will remember the

last setting used and remain on that setting until changed.

Power must be provided through an approved factory installed junction box from the hearth manufacturer.

Step 1:

Prepare the FK-ESC-RF control by connecting the ACF10 (supplied) black and white wires into the matching

black and white wires of FK-ESC-RF. Secure the ground in a suitable location (See Fig. 19).

Step 2:

TURN OFF 120VAC POWER SOURCE

then

unplug the existing fan and plug it into the ACF10 and plug the

FK-ESC-RF polarized plug into the outlet originally use by the fan.

Note

: If installation is new, plug FK-ESC-RF into an

approved 120VAC outlet or see additional POWER SOURCE INFORMATION on page 8.

Step 3:

Connect the two dry contact piggyback connectors to the TH &TH/TP terminals of the gas valve (See Fig. 19)  If

you are connecting to a electronic gas valve system see Fig. 20,  and see notes below the figure drawing.

Fan Wires

Figure 20 shows one method to wire the FK-ESC-RF.

Refer to the installation instruction of your fireplace model

for specific wiring for electronic or intermittent pilot

igniton (IPI)systems.  Some systems use two brown wires

to connect a dry contact switch other models may specify a

different method. Ensure you wire the FK-ESC-RFcorrectly

before using.
