Safety Information
Incompletely assembled rail segments may not be used as protection against falls! If such a segment must
be accessed for assembly or repair, an additional safety mechanism must be used (for example safety
rope with shock absorber EN 354/355) - observe relevant instructions for use!
12.2 Identification
12.2.1 Climbing protection rail
Each rail segment is marked with a label.
13 DESCRIPTION SPECIAL ACCESSORIES
13.1 Cover door for climbing protection ladders TAC-0121
• The cover door prevents unauthorised entry onto the climbing protection ladder. Opening the
door is only possible with the correct key and a matching runner in the system. That is to say
that it is not possible to open it without the runner, even if it is closed but not locked.
• After ascending, the cover door swings shut by itself.
• The door is lockable.
• Details and installation instructions can be found in the instructions for the door.
14 COMMISSIONING
• Checkpoints before the first ascent
• Ensure that the position of the ladder is vertical.
• The maximum angle of inclination of the straight guide rail is +-15° to the vertical (see fig.14 on page
28).
• All bolted connections, mounting brackets to the building, mounting brackets to the ladder sections,
butt joints and end stops must be checked.
• The end stop locking pin must move freely and lock the ascent route automatically.
• The runner must not be left in the guide rail. It should be handed over to the end user along with the
operating instructions.
• SKYLOTEC GmbH recommends using the attached checklist to check the climbing protection system
before the first ascent.
