Always allow the machine to come to a complete stop before putting it
down.
Never attempt to stop a moving blade by grasping it or by placing the
moving blade in contact with any surface as to do so poses a risk of damage,
breakage and/or injury.

Keep your workplace clean and tidy and clear sawdust from the area
regularly using compressed air or a vacuum device.
A dirty or cluttered
workplace invites accidents. Dust produced by sawing wood and metal can be
toxic, flammable and/or explosive.

Always secure your workpiece using clamping devices. This is much safer
than holding or supporting a workpiece by hand and allows you to handle
the saw with both hands.
When cutting sheet metal clamp the sheet to a
wooden board to prevent reverberations, which may cause the blade to jam in the
workpiece.
2. Before using the reciprocating saw
Fitting the saw blade
The saw is suitable for use with single-nose type reciprocating saw blades
and is fitted with a quick change blade system. Use only saw blades of the
type illustrated.
WARNING: Cut hazard. Turn off and remove battery from tool before
making any adjustments or removing or installing attachments or
accessories. Blade breakage may occur if the blade does not
extend past the shoe and the workpiece during the cut. Increased
risk of personal injury, as well as damage to the shoe and
workpiece may result.
