Automatic connection
The connection to SmartGate is automatically re-established under the following
condi-
tions.
› The WiFi setting is switched on in the device to be connected.
› The ignition is switched on.
› The device to be connected saves the password that is required to check the connection.
Connection problems
If the connection fails, check the following points.
› Have the conditions for a successful connection been met?
› Is SmartGate included in the list of available WiFi networks?
› Was the required password entered to check the connection?
› Has the password required for checking the connection been entered correctly?
› Is the device to be connected still connected to another WiFi network?
If all of the above points are OK and the connection still fails, contact a ŠKODA partner.
Note
With SmartGate, you can connect up to four devices at the same time.
SmartGate website
A special website is available for the SmartGate system.
Enter the following address in the web browser of the device that is connected.
HTTP://192.168.123.1
This website contains information about the vehicle, the WiFi connection and SmartGate. You
can adjust the settings for the WiFi connection under the “Configuration” heading.
Saving changes to the settings
The changes to the settings are only noticeable after you have carried out the following
steps.
› The changes are saved by pressing the “Save” button.
› SmartGate is restarted by pressing the “Reboot” button.
After disconnecting the control unit from the power supply, all the parameters (including
the changed password) are reset to the factory settings.
Password management
The passwords can be managed on the SmartGate website via the connected device (see
above for the address).
Any changes made will only be noticeable after they have been saved and SmartGate has
been restarted (“Saving changes to the settings” – see above).
Changing the password
Go to the “Configuration” heading in the “WPA/WPA2 key” menu item and enter a new pass-
word. The password must contain 8-17 characters without diacritics or special characters (e.g.
+, -, /, etc.).
Connecting without a password
Go to the “Configuration” heading and select the “Open” option in the “Security” menu item.
Forgotten password
If you have forgotten the password, SmartGate must be restored to the factory settings in a
specialist workshop by disconnecting the control unit from the power supply.
