3. Heart rate controlled mode (H.R.C.)
In this mode you can do an automatically steered training depending on your pulse frequency. After
selecting this mode and pressing ENTER you are in heart frequency controlled modus. Please amend
the displayed value according to your actual age. It starts the selection of one of 3 percentages of the
maximum pulse (the computer calculates it by your age you inserted before) or you can chose to put
in a target pulse rate directly. Use the DOWN & UP - buttons to select between 55%, 75%, 90% and
direct input of the target pulse. You may again enter target values (with DOWN & UP and ENTER) for
exercise time or distance, strokes and calories.
Press Start/Stop to start the exercise.
a. i. You have chosen a percentage. The computer calculates the target pulse. If your measured pul-
se is below this value the computer will increase the difficulty on a regular base in one step. If you
exceed this value it reduces the difficulty up to this point where the pulse will be balanced.

ii. You want to enter a target pulse value. Use DOWN & UP and ENTER-buttons to input the desired
value. Press START/STOP to start. The control of the resistance level will happen as described in
point a) above.
Pressing & holding RESET for approx. 2 seconds sets all values to zero and enables you to change
the mode of operation. If you should exceed the target pulse more than 30 seconds even on the dif-
ficulty level 1 (very easy) computer will stop the training automatically. It will make beeping sounds
multiple times then.
Also a beep will be emitted if the pulse values is higher than the entered target.
To pause during exercise it is also possible to press START/STOP in this mode. In pause mode, press
RESET to exit to main menu.
4. Race Mode
In this mode, a rowing race with the computer is simulated. After selection of this mode, you
need to choose a difficulty level from 1 to 15. The time for 500 meters distance is initially set to
0:30 minutes (30 seconds). You may change these standard settings as per your decision.
Press START/STOP to start the race. The race status will be displayed on the graphic display:
To pause during exercise it is possible to press START/STOP in this mode. In pause mode, press
RESET to exit to main menu.
