The RS485 port may be used in either client or server mode (server mode requires
either a fixed IP address SIM or a VPN to be configured). The QUARTZ-ONYX may be
set to either RS232 (two ports) or RS485 (one port). Selection between RS232 and
RS485 is made in software on the router configuration pages.
