IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

For safety purposes you should read these instructions carefully before using the appliance for
the

fi

rst time. Save these instructions for future reference.

The appliance is designed for domestic use and internal use only and may only be operated in
accordance with these instructions of use.
The appliance generates high temperature steam. Always handle with caution and warn other
users of potential danger.

DO’S

1. Check that the mains voltage stated on the rating plate corresponds to the local electricity

supply.

2. Unwind and straighten the supply cord before use.
3. Place and use the appliance on a

fl

at and steady surface.

4. Avoid the supply cord touch the soleplate.
5. The plug of the supply cord must be removed from the socket-outlet before the water res-

ervoir is

fi

lled with water.

6. Never pull off the cable to disconnect it from the socket. Instead, unplug by pulling the plug

from the socket.

7. Keep electrical appliances out of the reach of children or in

fi

rm persons. Do not let them use

the appliance without supervision.

8.   Empty the water tank after use.
9.    The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.
10.    When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is placed is

stable.

11. Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years of age when it is ener-

gized or cooling down.

12. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with re-

duced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning
and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

DON’ Ts

1. Do not touch the surfaces marked with symbol

during or just after ironing. It is hot!

2.   Do not allow children touch the appliance when ironing.
3.   Do not leave the appliance unattended while it is connected to a mains supply outlet.
4.   Do not use an extension power cord, unless it is 10A.
5.    Do not add perfumed, vinegar or other chemical liquids into the water tank; they can dam-

age the appliance seriously.

6. Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
7. Do not use the appliance when it is damaged or performs abnormally. The iron is not to be

used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking. If the cord
or any other part is damaged, you must immediately stop the use of the appliance and you
should contact any Singer Service Center.
