Disposal of old Electrical & Electronic Equipment (Applicable in the European Union and
other European countries with separate collection systems).
This symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product shall
not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the ap-
plicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential
negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could oth-
erwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. The recycling
of materials will help to conserve natural resources. For more detailed informa-
tion about recycling of this product, please contact your local city of fi ce, your household waste
disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.
CLEANING THE COFFEE MAKER
1. Unplug the appliance from the electrical supply before cleaning.
2. Wait for the whole appliance to cool down.
3. External surfaces should be cleaned with a soft damp cloth with mild soap. Then wipe dry.

The carafe can be cleaned with warm water and some washing liquid. Do not clean the
carafe in a dishwasher.
DESCALING
To make sure that your coffee maker is always producing perfect coffee, you will need to descale
it from time to time. The frequency will depend on how hard is the water in your area and how
often you use the coffee maker. If you use your coffee maker once or twice a day, the following
guidelines for descaling should be used:
• Soft water: every 6 months.
• Medium water: every 2-3 months.
• Hard water: every 6-8 weeks.
