True motion

In true motion the picture is locked to a geographical position,

with true north up, as shown in figure 3.

Figure 3 - True motion

The ship symbol moves around on the screen according to the

course and speed readings. All echoes are always in correct

position relative to the ship, and their movements on the screen

will be a true representation of the movements of the targets

through the water.
When the ship symbol reaches the screen edge, it will

automatically be moved to the centre or to a position

determined by the DISPLAY CENTRE button. This position is

reset to the screen centre whenever the mode is changed.
When selecting TARGET TRACKING, the target will

automatically be moved to the screen centre. In this mode the

DISPLAY CENTRE button will bring the target back to the

centre in case it has moved. The target will also be moved to the

centre when changing range.
