SUPPLEMENTARY SOURCE
PRESENCE FUNCTION
This function is typically used in multi-
energy systems, in which, for outside
temperatures greater than a set value,
the C.H. loads are met exclusively from
an alternative source to the boiler.
This function has the purpose of making
the boiler intervene, in the case of a C.H.
request, only if the outdoor temperatu-
re falls below the threshold. The boiler
however remains on stand-by in the
event of D.H.W. request.
To activate the function set PAR 34 INST
by entering the value of the outside tem-
perature above which the burner stays
off and the C.H. requests are met by a
supplementary source. Also by setting
PAR 5 = 5, during a C.H. request the
auxiliary relay used for the intervention
of the supplementary source is activated,
typically a heat pump. The remote alarm
output of the alternative source may be
placed in parallel to the external probe
so that in the event of failure of the sup-
plementary source, the boiler remains
however the only one to meet the loads.
