FRESH WATER SYSTEM
The purpose of the
Fresh Water Sys-
tem
is to provide a supply of pressurized
potable water to the Galley, Heads and
Transom Exterior Shower on demand and
as needed. Your
38C
has two (2) sepa-
rate systems that are independent of each
other and they are identi
fi
ed as follows:
• Fresh Water Pump System
• Dockside Water Supply System
Fresh Water Pump System
The Fresh Water Pump System on your
38C
consists of the following components:
Fresh Water Tanks (100 gallon capacity):
The fresh water tanks are located on the
outboard sides of the engine room of your
38C
. There are 2 tanks (50 gallons each).
The photo below shows the starboard
fresh water tank.
The Mechanical Schematic in the SCHE-
MATICS SECTION of this manual shows
the location of the fresh water tanks. They
are
fi
lled through a
fi
ll
fi
tting that is marked
“WATER” on the
fi
ll cap, which is located
on both the starboard and port side of the
deck. The photo below shows the star-
board water
fi
ll. The port side water
fi
ll is
in the same location but on the port side.
The Deck Layout in the Schematics Sec-
tion of this manual will show the location
of the Fresh Water Fill.
Fill the fresh water tank ONLY with
potable water that is safe for drinking.
DO NOT
fi
ll with water that may be of
questionable quality as serious illness
or death may occur.
Fresh Water Pump:
The fresh water pump is located on the aft
wall of the engine room. The fresh water
pump operates on DC electrical power
controlled by a breaker switch located
on the AC/DC Electrical Panel. The fresh
water pump is equipped with an automatic
pressure switch and when it is supplied
with electrical power, it will operate until
the entire fresh water system is pressur-
ized to a preset level. Once the required
