4. Short Circuit Test for the Receptacle
Assembly
Switch the multimeter to the short circuit test mode. Contact
one of the probes (the pole is irrelevant) to the terminal on the
end of the receptacle cord and the other one to the conductors
inside the receptacle. A continuous audible signal shall be
issued from the multimeter and a fixed value shall be
displayed on the screen in this condition. Otherwise, the cord
is damaged.
5. Short Circuit Test for the Grounding
Cord
Switch the multimeter to the short circuit test mode. Contact
one of the probes (the pole is irrelevant) to the needle-ended
terminal on the end of the cord and the other one to the ring
terminal on the other end. A continuous audible signal shall
be issued from the multimeter and a fixed value shall be
displayed on the screen in this condition. Otherwise, the cord
is damaged.
6. Motor winding measurement
This measurement is not performed under energy.
The person concerned should wear insulating shoes and
should not contact the circuits with the bare hand. If
necessary, they should energize the circuits again during the
disconnected measurement.
Remove the motor from the circuit. Take the multimeter
resistance to the measurement stage. Resistance value
decreases from speed 1 to final speed. There is an error in
winding if the resistance is in mega or kilo ohms. Resistance
value should be in ohms.
