Intended Use 

Hand-held portable mains powered nailer/stapler for light duty use. Suitable for a 

wide range of materials of medium to low density. Not suitable for the majority of 

metals or ceramics or other dense materials

Unpacking Your Tool 

Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Familiarise yourself with all its features 

and functions.
Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are 

missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool.

Before Use

WARNING: 

Always disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any 

maintenance/cleaning.

Loading the magazine

1.  Ensure that the stapler is disconnected from the mains power supply
2.  Press down on the Magazine Release (4) and pull open the magazine as  

  shown in image Fig. I
3.  Insert staples into the magazine as shown in Fig. I or nails as shown    

  in Fig. II, ensuring the point of the fastener is facing downwards (away  

  from the Insulated Handle (2) of the tool). See specification for suitable  

  fasteners. Ensure nails are on the correct side as shown and indicated by  

  the           symbol on the base of the magazine
4.  Close the magazine, ensuring the Magazine Release (4) clicks shut

Note:

 The Magazine Window (5) provides a quick indication of how close the tool is 

to running out of fasteners

Operation

Connection to power

1.  Depress the Lock On/Off Button (1) to lock the Trigger (3) off and prevent  

 use
2.  Insert the mains plug into the mains outlet and switch the mains socket  

  on (UK only)
3.  To switch off after use remove the mains plug from the mains socket

Firing staples and nails

1.  Move the Lock On/Off Button (1) to the unlocked position by depressing  

  the button on the opposite side to the one shown
2.  Always hold the tool securely. Grip the Insulated Handle (2) with one    

  hand, and place the other hand on the top of the body of the tool at    

  the rear where the insulated material is fitted. This will give you  

 

  maximum control of the tool. It is also safe to use the tool single-handed  

  when securing a workpiece or material with the other hand
3.  Hold the tool firmly against the material 
4.  Gently squeeze the Trigger (3) until the fastener is fired
5.  Release the trigger and check that the fastener has penetrated the    

  material correctly.

Note:

 If the fastener fails to penetrate correctly it is possible the material is too 

dense and not suitable for the tool

Clearing jams

1.  Disconnect the stapler from the mains power supply
2.  Depress the Magazine Release (4) and open the magazine
3.  Remove the obstruction using pliers
4.  Reload the magazine and close securely

Accessories 

A range of staples and nails are available for this power tool from your Silverline 

dealer. The following length Silverline staples are available; 8mm (101722), 10mm 

(101729), 12mm (101732) and 14mm (101739). Spare parts are available from 

your Silverline dealer or www.toolsparesonline.com.

Maintenance

WARNING:

 Always disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any 

maintenance/cleaning.
•  Inspect the supply cord of the tool, prior to each use, for damage or wear. This 

advice also applies to extension cords used with this tool

•  If replacement of  the supply cord is necessary, this has to be carried out by the 

manufacturer or his agent in order to avoid a safety hazard.

Lubrication

•  Lubricate all moving parts with a suitable lubricant spray, at regular intervals

Cleaning

WARNING: 

ALWAYS wear protective equipment including eye protection and gloves 

when cleaning this tool.
•  Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear 

quickly, and shorten the device’s service life

•  Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth
•  Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts. If dry cleaning is not sufficient, a 

mild detergent on a damp cloth is recommended

•  Water must never come into contact with the tool
•  Ensure the tool is thoroughly dry before using it

Storage

•  Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children

Disposal 

Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no 

longer functional and are not viable for repair.
•  Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic 

equipment (WEEE), with household waste

•  Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct  way 

to dispose of power tools
