8. Maintenance/cleaning
DANGER of burn injuries
Wait until the pot (3) has cooled down completely before cleaning it.
Otherwise you could burn yourself.
DANGER of electric shock
Always remove the plug from the power socket before cleaning commences.
Otherwise, there is a risk of electric shock.
Do not pour or spray any liquids onto the base (5) or immerse it into water or
any other liquids. Otherwise, there is a risk of electric shock and a fire hazard
due to short circuits.
WARNING of damage to property
Do not use any scratching or abrasive cleaning agents or abrasive objects
(such as a metal scourer) for cleaning purposes. Otherwise the kettle may be
damaged.
Rinse the inside of the pot (3) with clear water.
Clean the outer surfaces of the pot (3) or base (5) with a slightly damp cloth. Use some
washing up-liquid on the damp cloth for stubborn stains. Make sure to remove any detergent
residue from the pot (3) and base (5) before using the kettle again. Dry the pot (3) and base
(5) thoroughly before the next use.
You can use a cleaning or bottle brush with a long handle to remove stubborn
stains from inside the pot (3).
When cleaning the bottom plate of inside the pot, add some lemon juice inside
the pot (3) to remove stubborn stains more easily.
8.1. Descaling the pot (3)
Limescale may build up in the pot (3) over time. This can lead to loss of energy and shorten the
pot’s (3) service life. You should therefore remove the limescale as soon as it becomes visible.
Use a descaling agent that is used for coffee machines and other household devices. Proceed
as described in the instructions for the descaling agent.
Rinse the pot (3) with plenty of clear water several times after descaling it.
