INSTALLATION AND CIRCUIT- Electrical
-1-Precaution
A bilge pump and navigation lights are provided as standard equipment from the factory. Four or six
positions are provided in the fuse block in order to install additional accessories:
(1) All accessories added must be connected to the fuse block.
(2) The accessories are divided into two categories:
A---accessories used, or that maybe used, continuously in normal boat operation
B---accessories only used intermittently.
-2-Wiring
(1) Choose a free fuel position.
(2) Connect the accessory power supply to the terminal with a 6-mm female tab.
(3) If you must add a cable for connection, the minimum cross-section is 1.5 mm
2
(16 gauge)
and it must comply with “marine” cable recommendations.
(4) Connect the accessory grounding cable to the grounding terminal with
ring plug (same as
above for the cable).
(5) Use an ATO type fuse, maximum 15A, but with a higher operating intensity than the
accessories.(Ex; 3.5 Amp. Appliance= 5 Amp.Fuse)
Outboard engine, radio, fish finder, navigation lights, cigarette lighter and
other electrical appliances should not be connected to the same battery.
According to the regulation of the battery, outboard engine should be solely
connected to one battery. Other electrical appliances can only connected to
another battery. Incorrect connection will cause outboard engine and electri-
cal appliances stop to work.
NOTE:
If you install multiple electrical appliances, the total power consumption
may exceed the charging capacity of your outboard engine. You must verify
the charging output of your engine (refer to your outboard engine owner’s
manual/technical specification...or ask your dealer). Avoiding prolonged use
of these devices will eliminate total discharge of your battery and the inabil-
ity to restart the engine.
NOTE:
Some manufactures indicate the electrical intensity (amperes) instead of
the power (watts) consumed. For DC(direct current), as is the case, multiply
Amperes by 12 to obtain the wattage consumed.
