Clearing a trail will erase the trail from Atlas's memory. You will not be able
to backtrack to that trail head if the trail is erased. If you need to preserve
the trail, switch to Advanced Mode and use the instructions in Section 4 for
Creating and Saving a Trail

Transfer Custom Maps and GPS Data Files
Custom maps
work only from the MMC card or SDC card. When a card
containing a Custom Map File is loaded into the unit, Atlas automatically loads
the map into memory when the unit is turned on.
Custom maps are available preloaded on MapCards.
For instructions on inserting an MMC into Atlas,
see Section 2,
Installation/Accessories
.
GPS Data files
, containing waypoints, routes, trails and event marker icons,
must be copied from an MMC to Atlas's internal memory before Atlas can read
them. Here's how:

The Transfer My Data submenu asks if you want to save data to the MMC or load
data from the MMC into Atlas's memory.
2. The Transfer My Data menu includes a message which tells you if an MMC
card is present or not. If no MMC is present, you must first insert a card into
Atlas in order to activate the Load or Save commands.
