8 Buffer Battery
The exchangeable buffer battery ensures that programs and data in the expanded memory
(SRAM) as well the clock time (RTC) of the CPU module (e.g. CP 313) are preserved in the
absence of a supply voltage. A lithium battery is installed at the manufacturer.
The battery has enough capacity to preserve data in the absence of a supply voltage for up
to 3 years.
We recommend however, that the battery be replaced annually to ensure optimal
performance.

Use only batteries from RENATA of the type CR2032.

The battery can only be exchanged when power is supplied to the
terminal; otherwise data loss will occur!
The battery monitoring is designed so that a weak battery is first detected by the CPU
module and displayed in the control software. If the battery voltage continues to decrease,
the red LED "Battery Low" will light up. The battery should now be replaced quickly to
prevent data loss in the event of a power failure.
If the battery voltage is located between both thresholds of the monitoring switch, the
battery can be detected as good during operation, but as low after turning off and on. If this
is the case, it is recommended that the battery be replaced.
