5.3.3
Relative Centrifugal Force (RCF)
The relative centrifugal force (RCF) is the acceleration that the sample is subject
to.
The RCF value is determined by the rotor geometry and speed. The RCF and
speed values, therefore, depend on each other. When the maximum permissible
RCF value of the rotor is reached, the "max" display lights up.
To preselect the RCF value:
•
Turn the left rotary knob until “set” appears in front of the parameter “rcf” on
the display (Fig. 5.14).
•
Select the option by pressing or turning the right rotary knob. "Set" will now
flash.
•
Turn the right rotary knob until the desired value is displayed.
•
Press the right rotary knob to confirm the selected value. If this is not done,
the value will be automatically reset to the last setting.
It is also possible to change the RCF value during a centrifugation run.
5.3.4
Rotor
The available rotors for the centrifuge can be selected here (rotor 12011 in the
example). This is only possible at a standstill.
•
Turn the left rotary knob until “set” appears in front of the option “Rotor” on
the display (Fig. 5.15).
•
Select the option by pressing or turning the right rotary knob. "Set" will now
flash.
•
Turn the right rotary knob until the desired rotor number is displayed.
•
Press the right rotary knob to confirm the input. If this is not done, the value
will be automatically reset to the last setting.
