A.5 Electrical test method
•
The microphone may be replaced by a “10pF Preamplifier
input adapter”, Sigicom art.no 080-03611-0 to enable
injection of electrical test signals into the S51.
Note!
Use proper ESD precautions while the microphone is
removed.
•
Do not
inject electrical signals direct into the electronics of
the S51.
•
Input sensitivity when using the input adapter will be
approx. 50mV/Pa (exact sensibility is unit dependent, by the
combination of the microphone and the electronics inside
the S51).
•
Under no conditions, voltages above 10V
p-p
may be applied
to the input adapter.
•
Use a high-quality signal generator.
A.6 Overload handling
•
Interval values are tagged with overload flag if analog or
digital overload occurs in one single sample during the
interval period.
•
Transient files are tagged with overload flag if analog or
digital overload occurs in one single sample during
recording of the transient.
•
The red LED of the S51 will be lit during the rest of the
interval when an overload condition occurs.
A.7 Power consumption
S51 is powered via the INFRA Sensor Cable (11-15 VDC). The
power consumption in its most signal processing intensive measuring
standard (dBA) is approx. 100 mW.
