3.3. RoHS Compliance
The WMP module and the Development Kit board are compliant with RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous
Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive 2002/95/EC which sets limits for the use
of certain restricted hazardous substances. This directive states that
“from 1st July 2006, new
electrical and electronic equipment put on the market does not contain lead, mercury, cadmium,
hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)
”.
The units which are compliant with this directive are identified by the
RoHS logo on their label.
