Install
In the
Java applications
move the
joystick to the right for the
Download view.
You can get installation files via
• Bluetooth, Infrared from a
computer or phone
• multimedia message or as an
e-mail attachment
• download during a WAP session.

Alternatively, look at possible
applications e.g. Inbox for an
installation file, select it and press
the joystick to start installation.

A list appears, in which you can
select the root or any existing folder
as destination for the new
application.
During installation, the phone
checks the integrity of the software
package to be installed. Information
about the checks are displayed, with
the option to cancel the installation.
The phone informs you when the
installation is finished. After that the
destination folder will be opened
and the installed application will be
highlighted.

Exit.
Note
Do not install software from sources without
adequate protection against viruses and
other harmful software.
The phone only supports J2ME™ Java
applications. Do not download Personal
Java™ applications as they cannot be
installed.
You can download and install an
application immediately during a WAP
session. Note that the WAP connection is
left running in the background during
installation.
You can only install files with the extension
*.JAD or *.JAR.
Glossary
JAR file
(Java archive): This file includes
the executable application. When a JAR file
is selected, the application is started.
JAD file
(Java descriptor): These files
contain information on the application (JAR
file) and their address for downloading.
When a JAD file is selected, the connection
to the Internet is established and the
executable application is loaded.
