Connecting device in energized state
Risk of explosion in hazardous areas.
● Connect devices in hazardous areas only in a de-energized state.
Exceptions:
● Devices having the type of protection "Intrinsic safety Ex i" may also be connected in
energized state in hazardous areas.
● Exceptions for type of protection "Non-sparking nA/ec" (Zone 2) are regulated in the
relevant certificate.
Note
Improvement of interference immunity
● Lay signal cables separate from cables with voltages > 60 V.
● Use cables with twisted wires.
● Keep device and cables at a distance from strong electromagnetic fields.
● Take account of the conditions for communication specified in the Technical
● Use shielded cables to guarantee the full specification according to HART/PA/FF.
