Alternatively, use the PCS 7 "New Project" wizard to create a new PCS 7 project.
Note
This configuration is performed on an engineering station.
Requirements
● SIMATIC PCS 7 is installed.
● The PCS 7 project is displayed in the component view.
Procedure
1. Select the project folder in the tree view.
2. Select the shortcut menu command Insert New Object > SIMATIC PC Station.
3. Select the newly created SIMATIC PC station in the tree view.
4. Select the shortcut menu command Rename. Enter a descriptive name.
Recommendation:
Select the name of the SIMATIC PC station under Start > Settings > Control Panel >
System > "Computer Name" tab > "Computer name".
5. Select the PC station in SIMATIC Manager. Double-click the "Configuration" object.
HW Config opens.
6. In the hardware catalog, open the following folder: SIMATIC PC Station > Controller >
S7-modular Embedded Controller > EC31 <Article number> > <Version>.
7. Double-click the object with the latest version in the hardware catalog.
The "WinLC RTX EC" object is inserted. A "(0) UR" rack including "EC31 RTX" is created
with the "WinLC RTX EC" object.
The "Properties - Ethernet Interface PN-IO (...)" dialog box opens.
● If you want to connect the
distributed I/O over
PROFINET:
1. Click "New".
2. Enter a name for the PROFINET network.
3. Click "OK".
The network is pasted in the "Subnet" list.
4. Enter the IP address and the subnet mask.
5. Click "OK".
The CPU object is pasted in the hardware configuration
(slot: Index 2). A PROFINET network is inserted at the "PN-
IO" connector of the CPU.
● If you do not want to connect
the distributed I/O over
PROFINET:
1. Click the "Cancel" button.
