This section describes how to connect to and manage the device.
3.1
Connecting to the Device
The following describes the various methods for accessing the RUGGEDCOM
RSG2488F console and Web interfaces on the device. For more detailed instructions,
refer to the
RUGGEDCOM RSG2488F User Guide
for the RUGGEDCOM RSG2488F.
Serial Console and Management Ports
Connect a workstation directly to the serial console or management ports to access
the boot-time control and RUGGEDCOM RSG2488F interfaces. The serial console port
provides access to RUGGEDCOM RSG2488F's console interface, while the manage-
ment port provides access to RUGGEDCOM RSG2488F's console and Web interfaces.
NOTICE
The serial console and management (MGMT) ports are intended to be used only as
temporary connections during initial configuration or troubleshooting.
The serial console port implements RS-232 DCE (Data Communication Equipment) on
a DB9 connector. The following is the pin-out for the port:
